The Plot

Luke 22: 1-6
1Now the Festival of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching, 2 and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people. 3 Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve. 4 And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus.5 They were delighted and agreed to give him money. 6 He consented, and watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present.
Jesus knew the religious leaders were conspiring against him. He even knew Judas, one of his own disciples, a close friend, would be the one to betray him. The reason Jesus came to earth was to be crucified. He wasn’t going to escape this. It was his purpose. His final meal would be Passover with his disciples. Jesus’ death would be a new Passover.
My life gets chaotic at times. I find comfort in recalling Jesus at the end of his life. He was in control. There were plots and schemes against him that were successful. But God’s plan al-ways prevails. God’s eternal plan was for Jesus to be delivered up to be crucified. Nothing can really interfere with his plan. He is in control. He is at work in all the particulars for his good purposes.
Do I allow God be in control of my life? Can I look past the in-tent of evil and find God in the mist of the chaos? Do I really believe that He is at work in all the particulars for his good purposes? Help me in my unbelief.
