Helping Hands Ministry

Mission

The purpose of the Helping Hands Ministry at Bearden UMC is to be a good neighbor by providing discretionary spending aimed at granting financial assistance for housing, utilities, and food to individuals in our community and in our church.

Requesting Assistance
  • Requests are taken by phone, 865-239-8874. Please leave a voicemail that includes your first and last name, a good call back number, and a brief description of your request.
  • Requests are reviewed on Monday of each week.
    • If Monday is a holiday, requests will be reviewed the following week.
  • Those seeking assistance must be Knoxville residents or reside in nearby townships.
  • Groceries are available at our on-site Blessing Box and on the first Wednesday of the month through our partnership with the local FISH Pantry. If you would like to be added to the FISH grocery list, call our assistance line and include that as your request.
  • Please do not leave multiple messages as this will only delay our ability to process requests.
