John 20:19
19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you!
Where were these men, Jesus’ closest friends? Locked in a closed room hiding. Most didn’t even believe the women; they had to go see for themselves. They were full of doubt and skepticism. Scripture says they “saw and believed”. For some to believe they needed a personal appearance of Jesus. Thomas wanted to touch Jesus to fully believe. How often I doubt. I doubt I am worthy. I doubt Jesus is with me. I doubt that he could love me. I don’t get a personal appearance of Jesus like the disciples did. But I do see Jesus all around me. I see Jesus in others. When we allow the Holy Spirit to guide you, you become Jesus with skin for me. How often do I become Jesus with skin for others?
